#032 | Your Internal Flame

One new actionable knowledge each week to help you take more actions and live more intentionally, all towards happiness in life ❤️

Hey friends,

This week is a short piece on internal flame. The fire inside you. The hungriness for more. The internal drive.

What’s the power source within you that’s pushing you to want to get better every single day?

What pushes you to wake up at 5am when it’s still dark outside and everyone else is still asleep?

Why are you doing what you are doing?

The internal flame is the fundamental to everything. It’s the foundation.

Hungry for knowledge would lead to reading more and signing up for online courses.

Hungry to help others would lead you to doing charity works and mentoring others.

Hungry to become the best at a sport would lead to obsessive training and dieting.

Find your internal flame.

And the rest will take care of itself.

How to find your internal flame?

What has worked for me is using my emotions and feelings and past experiences to reverse engineer myself. Why do I feel this way when X happens? Why do I react this way when Y happens? What things tend to make me lose track of time?

This is a very hard thing to do because you need be very honest with yourself. As Richard Feynman said:

The first principle is that you must not fool yourself — and you are the easiest person to fool.

A helpful tip —> explore your childhood experiences.

Ohh and another thing…

You can’t be busy executing on projects and work. Take time off. Every year, I have at least 2 - 3 weeks where I clear everything… no habits, no work, no nothing.

Just lots of thinking.

You need a clear internal mind.

You need to find yourself.

Your internal flame.

🔥 Actionable Knowledge

Clear out your schedules for 1 - 2 weeks. Stop all your routines and start writing or recording your thoughts. Reflect on your past experiences. Learn from them. Learn more about yourself.

Remember, you can’t be busy executing and deeply reflecting at the same time. And what’s more important, chasing external deadlines or finding yourself :)

I would love to hear from you! Share your thoughts by replying to this email 😊

Thanks for reading everyone. Have a good week ahead! 🎮

All the best,

Ryan O
