Hey friends,

It has been aaaaaawhile!

I took a break from the newsletter this year for various reasons (stories for another time) but I am super excited to finally kickstart a new series of newsletters that I am calling the “Mystery Gift Box”.

I am starting a new chapter in life starting 5th September 2022 and it’s a personal ritual of mine that whenever I start a new chapter, I would “do something” as a representation of the old me dying and the reborn of a new me… this mystery gift box is one of the representations.

…plus I love gifting books to friends and the mystery gift box lets me do that on a whole different level.

Simply put… the mystery gift box contains the best hidden gems I've found in this world; from interesting ideas and concepts and thought-provoking questions to mind-blowing books/podcasts, cool animes/films, and other mysteries ❤️

Books Recommendation — Inner Work and Relationships

This year, I have been binge reading books in the space of relationships, which led me to various topics and concepts like analytical psychology, collective unconscious, shadow work, psyche, etc…

Some mind-blowing stuff 🤯

…specifically the aspect of how your childhood experiences have impacted who you are as an adult and your personality.

I am still in the midst of connecting the dots, both learning the concepts and self-discovery but the two books that gave me the most aha moments that I would highly recommend are:

How to Do the Work: Recognize Your Patterns, Heal from Your Past, and Create Your Self by Dr Nicole LePera

Receiving Love: Letting Yourself Be Loved Will Transform Your Relationship by Harville Hendrix and Helen LaKelly Hunt

Okay, so there’s this one relationship book that I have been reading over and over again… probably about 7 times now 🙈 It’s one of the best books I have read in the relationship space…

When it comes to relationship topic, I have this debate of blessed ignorance vs hyper conscious so I will just leave this one here for you to decide 👀

The Receiving Love book has many exercises, of which one of them allows you to evaluate your current ability to receive love through a series of 50 questions. I created a Notion template of it for myself and here’s the template where you can duplicate and take it for yourself too 😊
